Alumni Council Award Nominations We seek nominations that reflect the community of Bowdoin alumni with diverse experiences and perspectives. Our efforts will support the College's values. Our students, faculty, staff, and alumni reflect different races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, sexualities, abilities, religions, and differing political perspectives, among other identities. The College’s commitment to the common good means we are working every day to create a welcoming and inclusive community for all. At this time we are accepting nominations for the following four awards and welcome your nominations. View past award recipients here.
Alumni Footprints Award
In keeping with the heralded words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Class of 1825, this award recognizes a volunteer who has left "footprints on the sands of time" through professional, academic, and/or volunteer activities demonstrating leadership for the Common Good and a commitment to serving others. Foot Soldier of Bowdoin Award The Foot Soldier of Bowdoin Award honors an individual who, during the prior year, showed tireless dedication to college initiatives in Development, Admissions and/or Alumni Relations. In addition to sponsoring the award, the Foot Soldier of Bowdoin Award and Scholarship Fund finances a scholarship given in the recipient's name to a deserving Bowdoin student or students. Polar Bear Award Awarded in recognition of significant personal contributions and outstanding dedication to Bowdoin. The award honors a record of service rather than a single act or achievement. Young Alumni Service Award Awarded in recognition of distinguished and outstanding service to Bowdoin. The award honors a record of service rather than a single act or achievement. (Alumni whose classes have graduated within 10 years of the commencement preceding the award ceremony are eligible.)
